MINIMALIST / MICRO, LEGAL, SIMPLE, ELOPEMENT, ELABORATE, BESPOKE, ECLECTIC, PURPLE COW, SAME SEX, THEMED, FAMILY CONDUCTED WEDDINGS MARRIAGES

  • These are all terms used by celebrants to describe ceremonies
  • Tony Nolan will design the style of ceremony that suits your ideals and values regardless of the name
  • It is your ceremony - it is your choice!
  • A church wedding ceremony is designed primarily by the church and allows the couple little, if any, choice of style or content. Registry Office weddings are held in their marriage room and no where else.

A modern thinking, pro-active, civil marriage celebrant, like myself, will allow you the flexibility to determine the style, location and how your ceremony will be conducted. Some examples you can choose from are:

    • Traditional - Time honoured traditional style ceremony and music that has been personalised by your input and choice of vows, readings etc
    • Modern – Today’s music, modern language and with you having written your own vows and chosen the full content of your ceremony.
    • Formal - Black / white tie, evening gowns.
    • Alternate - Do something different - come up with your own idea.
    • Surprise - Turn a dance, engagement, baby naming ceremony, birthday party or dinner into a marriage ceremony. Please note you cannot "surprise" your partner.
    • Humorous or light hearted - You choose the degree and nature of humour.
    • Themed / costumed:
      • Medieval
      • Gothic
      • Fancy dress
      • Rock and Roll
      • Sporting etc
      • I will dress in costume if your desire. The photos page will show me as Friar Tuck and as Elvis Presley.
    • Family Conducted Ceremonies
    • I must introduce myself as the authorised celebrant, read 5 lines of text known as the Monitum, hear the vows and sign the certificate.
    • Family or friends can conduct the remainder of your ceremony
    • I must also be present during the ceremony and take control if necessary.
    • Naturist
    • Many people find being naked very natural and couples and guests are welcome to undress if they so wish
    • The only limitations here are that undressed persons stay indoors

Creative - Let your imagination run wild, think outside the square and create your own theme.

    • Jointly celebrated ceremony with a priest or minister or other religious figure.
    • High religious content or no religious content.
    • Cultural - Incorporate with Tea Ceremony or other culturally significant segment.
    • Jointly celebrated ceremony with a guest, or guests, performing most of the ceremony.
    • Mixed race.
    • Same sex unions.
